Marsala is the fifth largest city of the Sicily by population. There are two versions about its name origins: someone says that it comes from "Marsa Alì", "Alì's Harbour", but others say that it comes from "Marsa Allah", "Allah's Harbour".
The historical centre of the city, also called "Cassero", still keeps the charm of the past centuries. Every place has the flavour of the history surrounding and recreating it. You can prove it visiting the Archaeological Museum, admiring the ruins, proves of ancient civilizations that populated it.
